How the test works
Each level shows a grid of identical symbols – except one. The grid grows and the difference shrinks: from an apple among tomatoes to the famous “m” hidden among lots of “rn”. From level 8 on you get bonus levels that only exist on KopfKinoX.
Tips for a higher score
- Don’t read cell by cell: let your eyes glide loosely over the whole grid. Your brain often spots differences faster than you can search consciously.
- Scan row by row: if the overview doesn’t work, go through the grid systematically.
- Lean back: from a little further away, differences in shape and colour can stand out more.
Why is it so hard?
Our brain loves patterns. When it sees many identical shapes it “fills in” the picture and ignores small deviations to save energy. This test exploits exactly that: the more similar the symbols, the more you have to steer your attention on purpose.
