Which shadow fits?
Only one of the four shadows fits exactly. The others are mirrored, rotated, squashed – or belong to a different animal altogether.
What does this test train?
Shadow puzzles challenge your spatial reasoning: you have to hold an object’s shape in your head and compare it with a colourless silhouette. This skill – “mental rotation” – is also part of many intelligence tests.
How to spot the traps
- Mirrored: check which way the head, beak or tail points.
- Rotated: look at the ground – are the feet level?
- Squashed or stretched: compare height to width, for example at the neck.
